Danish Farmers Abroad was founded in 2007 by a group of farmers building agricultural businesses outside Denmark – with no one to compare notes with. Nearly two decades later, DFA is an international network for owners and leaders of medium and large-scale agricultural businesses – in Denmark and abroad, Danish and international. The founding principle has never changed: serious people, sharing what actually works.

How DFA started
DFA was founded on 4 June 2007 by a group of farmers building agricultural businesses outside Denmark. They had no advisory organisation that offered what they needed: honest benchmarking, shared experience, and a community of equals. So they built it themselves. Over time, membership has grown beyond its Danish origins — today DFA welcomes agricultural businesses and sector partners from across Europe and beyond, regardless of nationality. That founding principle, however, has never changed.
